Aspen Music Festival and School

Founded in 1949, in beautifully scenic Colorado, the Aspen Music Festival and School is one of the top classical music festivals in the United States, and a premier destination for young musicians to study over the summer.

Working with New York brand strategists Arts Branding we created a new organisational logo, brand identity and season communications.

The new logo was inspired by the clean, modernist aesthetic of Bauhaus design legend Herbert Bayer, who came to Aspen in the 1940s with festival founders Walter and Elizabeth Paepcke, and whose sensibility informed Aspen’s transformation from a ranching community to a world-class arts destination.

Bayer designed season materials for the festival and his influence in the town can still be seen through his architecture and land art.
